Privacy Policy
The short version: we collect as little as we can, we never sell it, and we only use it to do the work you hired us for. The longer version is below, and it's written to be read, not skimmed and sighed at.
Who we are
Shoman is an AI and software consultancy run by Nicanor Korir, based in Berlin with an office in Nairobi. Whenever this page says we, us, or Shoman, that's who we mean.

What we collect
When you get in touch
- Your name and email
- Whatever you choose to tell us about your project
- Our back-and-forth, the emails and notes from calls
When you browse the site
- Basic, anonymous numbers like page views and where you arrived from
- We use privacy-first analytics that don't follow individual people around
When we're working together
- The project details you share with us
- Billing information, handled by secure payment processors rather than sitting on our servers
- Any data you hand over so we can actually do the job
What we do with it
We use what we collect to:
- Reply when you reach out
- Do the consulting work you hired us for
- Send you updates and invoices
- Sharpen how we work, using anonymous, lumped-together data only
What we never do: sell your data, pass it to advertisers, or use it for something you never agreed to.
Your project data
When you hire us, you'll often trust us with proprietary code, data, or business detail. Here's the deal:
- Confidentiality: your project data stays inside the project. It doesn't go anywhere else.
- Access: only the people actually working on your project can see it.
- Storage: it lives in secure, encrypted storage.
- Retention: when the project wraps, we hold onto files for 90 days in case you need support, then delete them unless you've asked us to keep them.
- Return or deletion: want your data back, or want it gone? Ask, any time.
The services we rely on
We lean on a small handful of tools we trust:
- Vercel: hosting this website
- Calendly: booking calls
- Google Workspace: email and documents
- GitHub: code, when we're building something together
Each one has its own privacy policy, and we pick tools that take privacy as seriously as we do.
Your rights
It's your data. You can:
- Ask what we hold about you
- Have us fix anything that's wrong
- Have us delete it
- Pull your consent for any processing

Cookies
We keep cookies to the bare minimum the site needs to work. No tracking cookies, no advertising cookies, none of that.
If this policy changes
If we change something that matters, we'll update this page and the date on it, and we'll email active clients so it doesn't slip past you.
